Insert Quran Verses by Surah, Ayah, or Page Number in Word

Introduction
In addition to its advanced keyword-based search feature, the Mushaf Word Plugin offers a powerful set of tools that let you insert Quranic content in Microsoft Word using Surah numbers, Ayah numbers, and even Mushaf page numbers. These methods are ideal for scholars, writers, or teachers who know the exact location of the verse or need to reference a full page from the Madinah Mushaf.
1. Insert a Specific Ayah by Surah and Verse Number
If you know the Surah number and the verse number, you can insert that verse directly into your document.
How to Use:
- Open the Mushaf Word plugin window
- Select the Surah (e.g., Surah 4 — An-Nisa)
- Enter the verse number (e.g., 2)
- Click “Insert”
🔹 Example:
Choosing Surah 4 and Ayah 2 will insert:
“وَآتُوا الْيَتَامَىٰ أَمْوَالَهُمْ ۖ…”
(Verse 2 of An-Nisa — commonly referenced in discussions of orphan rights and trust.)
This method is perfect when you’re citing a specific verse from memory or referencing it from another source.
2. Insert a Range of Verses
Need to include a series of verses for tafsir, a lesson, or a study sheet? The plugin supports bulk insertion of multiple consecutive ayat from the same surah.
How to Use:
- Select the Surah
- Enter a start verse number and an end verse number
- Click “Insert”
🔹 Example:
Surah 55 (Ar-Rahman), verses 1 to 4:
“الرَّحْمَـٰنُ ﴿١﴾ عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ ﴿٢﴾ خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ ﴿٣﴾ عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ ﴿٤﴾”
This is ideal for teachers or researchers who want to display a full passage rather than one ayah at a time.
3. Insert a Mushaf Page (Madinah Print)
Sometimes, referencing a whole page from the Mushaf gives better context — especially for printed material, Quranic studies, or structured recitation.
How to Use:
- Open the plugin
- Go to the page insertion section
- Enter the desired Mushaf page number (from 1 to 604)
- Choose whether to insert it as plain text or inside a bordered frame
🔹 Example:
Page 30 of the Madinah Mushaf corresponds to verses from Surah Al-Baqarah (not a mix of surahs — each page is limited to one).
Inserting page 30 will bring:
“…إِنَّمَا ذَٰلِكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَاءَهُ…” and several ayat after it from Surah Al-Baqarah.
⚠️ Note:
Mushaf pages do not mix verses from different surahs. Each page in the Madinah Mushaf belongs entirely to one surah. Be sure to use the page number accordingly.
Bonus: Use with Additional Features
When inserting ayahs by number or page, you can still activate the same advanced features available in other modes:
- Add “بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم” automatically
- Prepend “قال تعالى” before the verse
- Control formatting and layout after insertion
- Choose how and where to display the verse citation (same line, separate line, or footnote)
When to Use This Method
Use Case | Ideal Method |
Writing tafsir or commentary | Insert verse range |
